Easy Iced Mocha

I have a confession to make, I LOVE iced coffee! It's strange because I'm really not a fan of regular coffee, but add some chocolate and ice and I'll drink it down like it's candy (if you could actually drink candy.) The problem with this addiction to delicious iced coffee drinks is the fact that they cost a small fortune, and they're usually not so great for you. However, I've figured out how to make a yummy, low calorie version that won't break the bank! Oh yeah, it's also super EASY! So, here it is:

Easy Iced Mocha

Ingredients:

- Instant Coffee (I used Nescafe Taster's Choice Decaf House Blend)
- 6 ounces hot water
- 1 Tablespoon fat free chocolate syrup
- 2 Tablespoons sugar free vanilla syrup (or whatever flavor you choose)
- Ice cubes
- 1/2 cup skim milk

What to do:

Mix your instant coffee with 6 ounces of hot water and set in the refrigerator until it's nice and cool. Don't have time to wait? You can mix your instant coffee with cold water instead of hot. It will take a bit longer for the coffee to dissolve and your mocha will be a little bit stronger this way but it does work!

Add both syrups, ice cubes, cold coffee and milk to a large glass and stir until combined. It's seriously THAT easy! And guess what? It's only 95 calories!

I was able to score the vanilla syrup online a while back for FREE and I received the coffee as a sample in the mail so this lovely drink only cost me around .08 cents to make! Woot!

I just wanted to let you all know about this awesome Old Navy app that you can download for free to your Apple or Android device. You can click the links I've posted, or head to the app store on your device and search for "Old Navy" to download this free SnapAppy app.

Once you have downloaded it you will then be able to snap pictures of the Old Navy logo to try and win prizes! I just went to the Old Navy website on my laptop and took a picture of the logo there. Once you have snapped your picture, it will spin a wheel and you will have the chance to win great prizes like coupons, blue jeans, boots and more! You can spin the wheel up to 10 times per day, and you can win multiple prizes!

Just so you know that this is legit, my husband and I both won coupons good for $10 off a purchase at Old Navy, AND they could be used towards clearance items! I used both coupons (after making sure he didn't want anything) to score all of the stuff pictured below for FREE! My total savings was more than $54!!! Also, my sister has won a pair of jeans AND some boots!

Give it a try and let me know if you win anything!

New Year, new beginnings.

Hey guys! I apologize for the long absence. With the hustle and bustle of the holidays I just haven't been present on here like I should have. However, I'm back now and I have some exciting new ideas for this blog that will be coming very soon!

My idea for Life on the Cheap has always been to share my ideas on how to live cheaply, without sacrificing quality of life. I haven't really been doing a great job of that though. I've shared many ways to save money when shopping online or dining out, but there is so much more to life than that! So, this year I also want to focus on some of the many ways that I save money at home. I will still include all of those great shopping and dining out deals, but I will also be including some great tutorials that will help you to save money on things that you use on a daily basis. I won't reveal those ideas quite yet though, you'll just have to wait and see!

With that being said, I wish you all a very happy New Year! I hope you'll stick with me as I try to iron out the kinks and make this blog not only informative, but also entertaining!
